How much does a website cost in Greece (2026 guide)
Real 2026 price ranges for websites and e-shops in Greece, what drives the cost, and the hidden expenses most quotes leave out.

Ask five Greek agencies how much a website costs and you will get five answers, from €200 to well over €10,000. All of them can be honest. The gap is not about who is overcharging; it is about what you are actually buying.
This guide gives you the price ranges you will see in the Greek market in 2026, what moves the number up or down, and the costs that rarely appear in a first quote. It is written for small business owners in Greece and for anyone abroad thinking about hiring a web agency in Greece.
Greek website prices at a glance
The ranges below come from public offers by Greek agencies and freelancers, excluding VAT (24%). They are market ranges, not a Metisly price list.
| Type of website | Typical range (ex VAT) | What is usually included |
|---|---|---|
| Simple business site on a template (WordPress/builder) | €200 – €500 | 3–5 pages, ready-made theme, basic contact form |
| Custom business website | €900 – €3,000+ | Design from scratch, 5–15 pages, SEO structure, performance |
| E-shop | €1,500 – €10,000+ | Catalogue, cart, payments, shipping, ERP connection |
| Redesign | €600 – €2,500 | New design on existing content, URL migration |
| SEO (monthly retainer) | €150 – €800+ / month | Keyword work, content, technical fixes, reporting |
Prices start low because templates make a basic site fast. They rise as soon as you need something designed and written for your business rather than adapted from a theme.
What drives the price
Number and type of pages
An "About" page is cheap. A service page that has to rank on Google, with copy, FAQs and a form, costs several times more. When comparing quotes, count pages that do a job, not pages in general.
Template or custom design
A template is quick and inexpensive, but it looks like a thousand other sites and often loads slowly because it carries features you never use. Custom design costs more but is built around what you sell. For most small businesses the right answer sits in between: custom design on clean, lightweight code, with no plugin bloat. That is how we approach website design for small businesses.
Content: who writes the words
The most common hidden cost. Many quotes assume you will supply the text and photos. If you do not have them, you either pay extra or the site sits half-finished for months.
SEO from the start, or later
A site built with the right structure, fast loading and proper titles costs a little more up front and saves months of fixes. Adding SEO "afterwards" often means rebuilding half the site. What a solid foundation includes is explained on our local SEO services page.
Features
Online booking, payments, multiple languages, a connection to your CRM or accounting software. Each adds hours of work. The good news is that most can be added later if the foundation is right.
The hidden costs that are not in the quote
Even if the build is "from €250", a website costs money every year. Ask about all of the following before you sign:
- Domain: €10 – €30 per year for a .gr or .com.
- Hosting: €5 – €30 per month for a decent shared or cloud plan. "Free" hosting usually means a slow site.
- Maintenance and updates: especially on WordPress, plugins need monthly updates. Many agencies charge €20 – €80 per month.
- SSL certificate: this should be free today. If someone charges for it, ask why.
- Photos and video: a €200 – €600 photo shoot transforms how a small business looks online.
- GDPR: privacy policy, cookie consent, consent on the form. If these are missing, the liability is yours, not the developer's.
- Email: a professional address on your domain (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365) costs €6 – €12 per user per month.
- Changes after launch: ask whether small edits are billed hourly and at what rate.
How much an e-shop costs
E-shop pricing has the widest spread. A Shopify or WooCommerce store on a ready theme with 50 products can cost €1,500 – €3,000. A store with thousands of products, ERP integration, several shipping methods and custom design easily passes €10,000.
For an e-shop, also budget for:
- Payment fees (bank, Stripe, PayPal): 1.5% – 3% per transaction.
- Platform subscription on Shopify: from roughly €30 per month.
- Product entry: free if you do it, but 500 products takes weeks.
- Maintenance: usually 10% – 20% of the initial build per year.
Hiring a web agency in Greece from abroad
If you are based in the UK, US or elsewhere in Europe, Greek agencies can be a good value option: experienced teams, EU data protection rules, and rates below London or New York. Two things to check: that the team works comfortably in English and in your time zone for calls, and that you own the domain, hosting and code at the end. Prices in this guide apply whether the client is in Athens or Dublin.
How to read a quote
Before comparing prices, ask each agency to answer in writing:
- How many pages are included, and which ones.
- Who writes the copy and who sources photos.
- Whether the site is yours (domain, hosting, code) or effectively rented.
- What SEO means in the quote: "SEO friendly" or actual keyword research.
- Speed: ask them to show one of their sites in a mobile PageSpeed test.
- What happens after launch: training, changes, maintenance, costs.
- Delivery time, and what they need from you to keep it.
A quote that answers all seven clearly is worth more than a cheaper one that leaves gaps.
How much is worth spending
Treat the website as a tool with a return, not as an expense. If a new customer is worth €300 to you and the site brings two extra customers a month, a €2,000 custom site pays for itself in under four months. A €250 site that appears nowhere and has no clear call to action is expensive, however little you paid.
The same logic applies to every other tool in the business. If you want to see how a website grows into a system that books appointments on its own, read what an AI booking agent is.
